WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!

We are well and truly back into our school routines already after week 1 and what a busy week it has been!  The highlight this week was on Friday when we gathered together to celebrate Miss Shaw's 30 years of teaching at our school.  Each class presented 2 balloons to Miss Shaw as well as 8 from her class so that in total she ended up with trying to hold 30 balloons!  Ben and Lily were our 'balloon representatives' from Room 2.  Mr Peter Hooker, our Board of Trustees chairperson, spoke on our behalf and then presented to her a beautiful bunch of flowers.

CONGRATULATIONS MISS SHAW!!!!

Earlier on in the day, we started a painting unit during Art.  We started off our unit by doing some 'Mirror painting'.  You are all so welcome to pop in and see your child's work ... I know that they would love to show it off to you.

As well as our school-wide focus which is PERSEVERANCE,  in Room 2 we are focussing on growing our brains in order to learn, learn, learn.  We have talked about and watched a clip on how our brains are like a muscle and we need to grow this muscle to keep us constantly learning.  This week we are going to be looking at how important it is to make mistakes and how we learn from mistakes - ask your child to tell you about this at home.

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend and I'll see you in the morning :)
